Te Rapa Living Legend - Star Wondering8 Nov 2019

On the eve of the Legacy Lodge sprint it seems appropriate to announce that the Waikato Racing Club is proud to be partnering with EventStars Ltd to "adopt" previous Legacy Lodge sprint winner and three x Group 1 winner START WONDERING.

Trained by Evan & JJ Rayner the gelding was retired in amazing condition after a stellar career which included 11 wins, saluting the judge in the Group 1 Waikato Sprint twice and the Group 1 Sistema Railway.

Under the guidance of Gina and her team, Bart will be introduced to life as a sport horse and make his grand debut as a sport horse at the Beyond the Barriers.

EventStars is the Kapaki based business operated by Gina Schick who re educates and re homes our retired stars. Her work to promote life after racing and in giving our Thoroughbred friends their second career is simply phenomenal.

As a flow on from EventStars, Gina and Nicky Wallace created Beyond the Barriers. A competition to showcase the diversity and talent of the Thoroughbred held at Equidays annually. Bart is being aimed for the October 2020 competition.

You wont have to wait until October to meet him though. He will our guest of honour for Legends Day where he will showcase his amazing attitude and his new skills. Appropriately, he will also lead out the 2020 BCD Sprint field.

We'd like to thank #TeRapaPartners Dunstan Horsefeeds & Gregory Equine Covers & Saddlery who are partnering with us on this journey to ensure Bart is feeling his best and looking sharp.

We look forward to taking you on this amazing life after racing journey as we bring you "Bart's Diary" over the next few months, which may even have a few guest appearances from Bart's friends including the adorable Alvin
