No Loitering goes back to back4 Aug 2019

Trainer Iain Marks was chuffed as anything as No Loitering scored another thumping win here at Te Rapa for the second time in the past fortnight, taking out the $25,000 Race A Horse with Te Akau (Rating 72) over 1600 metres on Saturday.

The Te Aroha conditioner returned with his veteran galloper who is racing in the best form of his life with another robust win on the weekend.
Drawn barrier 10 in the 12-horse field, rider Erin Leighton allowed No Loitering to cross on his own merits to be within the first four early but as there was a speed duel from the trio up front, Leighton eased back to trail fourth on the rail.

Before swinging for home, the pair breezed up to challenge the leaders, taking the lead at the 300m mark and strode to an easy two length victory. Favourite Polly Grey (M.Coleman) did well to finish second with another two lengths back to Magdala (C.Grylls) in third place.
No Loitering was rider’s Erin Leighton’s first winner in six years when the pair won two weeks ago.
“It feels great to ride a winner,” Leighton said.

No Loitering’s winning time was 1:38.43 (last 600m in 38.67) on a Slow9 track.

“I thought we’ll come back and try the same with similar conditions, distance wise, rating wise” trainer Iain Marks said.
“He had a couple nice fourths before he won a fortnight ago.”
“Erin comes to ride him on Saturday, so you can’t ask anything more than that, so I’ll stick with her,” Marks added.

No Loitering’s recorded his sixth win from 44 career starts that also includes 10 placings and has earned over $110,000 in stakes for owners Betty Davies, Chris Thompson & Iain Marks.
