Mongolian Heaven dictates his terms10 Nov 2019

Trainer Andrew Forsman remains convinced his Saturday winner Mongolian Heaven can get a trip in the future after taking out the $10,000 Chris Steenstra (3YO) Maiden over 1600 metres.

The son Savabeel recorded his first win outlasting the close finish of Tibetan (V.Colgan) by a short neck, with the same margin to Scorpz (S. Collett) in third.
Forsman believes the well bred three-year-old has potential ability for longer distances.

“Andrew told me to be positive. It was good riding instructions. There was pressure the whole way, so we had quite a good gallop, but once again the Baker/Forsman fitness told," Jonathan Riddell said.

Mongolian Heaven’s winning time was 1:36.48 (last 600m in 35.41) on a Good 3 track

“He was a little slow away and Jonathan had to punch him along and do a fair bit of work early, so it was a good effort," co-trainer Andrew Forsman said.
“We'll get him up over ground pretty quickly. He’s still a bit immature but the more racing he gets, he might toughen up a bit.”
“He a nice colt,” Forsman added.

Mongolian Heaven was purchased for $525,000 at last year’s Ready To Run Sale from Dormello Stud’s draft and is raced by Hope Bloodstock Ltd & Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry (NZ) Ltd.
