Former All Whites manager Ricki Herbert had a special day to remember that was completed when his mare It’s Doable duly obliged in the $22,500 Melbourne Cup @ Te Rapa (Rating 65) over 1200 metres.

“Credit goes to the Keith and Brendon Hawtin. She has matured and strengthened up well after her spell,” Mansour said.
“She’s blossomed over the last two months and she’s going to improve from this.”
“I couldn’t of asked for a better run. It was exactly where we wanted to be and when I pushed the button, she was a bit green, she was running away from the other horses but she straightened up nicely and hit the line strong.”
“Well done to the owners, it’s owned by good friends of mine.”

It’s Doable’s winning time was 1:11.69 (last 600m in 35.09) on a upgraded Dead5 track.

The win was It’s Doable second from 9 starts and takes her stakes past $23,000 for owners Herbert along with C J Grace, K Hawtin, B Hawtin & G Rana
