Cameron delivers with late run with Pearlescence7 Oct 2019

A patient ride by Matt Cameron saw Pearlescence swoop down on the outside to record a soft win in the $22,500 Bupa Foxbridge Village Now Selling (Rating 65) over 2100 metres on Friday.

Pearlescence occupied a rearward spot for most of the running before making a late run right on the outside to put paid to pacemaker Uabasso who looked home and hosed on the rails at the 100m.

Sent out as the third-elect at $6.50, Pearlescence scored with one and a half lengths to spare from Uabasso (R.Smyth) while Zenntari (S. Weatherley) had to settle for third place another long head away.
“Her last two runs have been good and a bit short of her best but today she got the distance and the run and she did the job nice,” Matt Cameron said.
“She probably tailed off a little and disappointing last season but she’s come back stronger a year older,” Cameron added.

Pearlescence winning time was 2:10.25 (last 600m in 36.4) on a Dead6 track.

“She’s been looking for more ground but she needed to step up today and she’s done that pretty well,” co-trainer Andrew Forsman said.
“She’s always shown promise and when she’s looked ready to step up, she hasn’t quite done it so maybe now as a more mature mare,“ Forsman added.

Pearlescence third win from 20 starts includes four placings and takes her stakes tally to over $38,000 for owners Silverstream Racing Ltd.
