Aligns With Me powers home9 Oct 2019

Keith Hawtin took trainers honours hands down when Aligns With Me was among the yards three winners on Friday after taking out the $35,000 Hamilton Wanderers Football (OHcp) over 1400m metres.

Hawtin’s day began with It’s Doable and ended with the last on the card with Money Trail with Aligns With Me between them both.
The Hawtin yard has been transferred to Keith Hawtin, who has taken over full time training, since the departure of son Brendon to Victoria to work with Trent and Natalie Busuttin.
Aligns With Me with Donavan Mansour aboard settled midfield on the rail, was out to challenge turning for home and powered home for a convincing three-quarter length victory to No Loitering (D. Danis) with grand campaigner Saint Emilion (M. Cameron) three lengths back.

“She impressed me with his previous win. He needed to improve a bit from what I felt from his last run and he did,” Donavan Mansour said.
“He will be a nice horse going into the summer, and should earn some cheques.”

Aligns With Me winning time was 1:23.17 (last 600m in 36.5) on a Dead5 track.

“He’s a nice horse. We had a foot problem before so we scratched him last start but we got a perfect track for him today with a nice pace and Donovan knows him and its worked out,” trainer Keith Hawtin said.
“He’ll win a good mile race,”

“He goes well here at Te Rapa but personally I think he goes better right-handed but that remains to be seen.”
“We have a real nice team at Te Awamutu. We have 18 horses in the stable and I’ve actually turned down a dozen horses in the last couple of months but I’m happy with the ways things are ticking along with clients and staff at the moment.”

Aligns With Me’s third win from 16 starts includes six placings and takes his stakes past $77,000 for owners Mrs P E M & Est late G N Brindley.
